Mary Meuser Library and AARP Volunteers Offer Free Tax Preparation

Mary Meuser Library, 1803 Northampton St. Easton, PA 18042 in Wilson, and volunteers from AARP are offering free income tax preparation. Volunteers are available to assist Spanish and Russian speaking residents. This service is only provided for simple tax returns only and cannot accommodate stock portfolios or any complicated tax situations. The program runs from February 1st to April 18th this year. LINCS Family Center: Connecting Area Families to Essential Services Through Northampton County Community Development Block Grant

Greater Wilson Area – LINCS Family Center is utilizing funds from a $20,000 Northampton County Community Development Block Grant to connect local families to needed services. Through a partnership with CONCERN for Kids, a social worker evaluates the needs of local residents and suggests resources to meet those needs. LINCS Family Center Receives State Grant to Reduce Violence

Greater Wilson Area – LINCS Family Center received $30,000 in funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to reduce violence in the community served by the Wilson Area School District. The violence prevention programming will build upon a previous grant that funded the mobilization of a Communities That Care coalition within the Wilson Area School District community. LINCS provides Thanksgiving meal supplies to families in need in our district. We could use some help this year and are hoping for donations from the local community! How Does the LINCS Garden Grow?

  We had a wonderful group of volunteers help to maintain the teaching garden over the summer. As a result, fresh produce was offered on a weekly basis to those who came to our food pantry. In May, LINCS presented our Volunteer Challenge Project at Steel Stacks. We were one of 30 organizations who paired with local businesses to complete our garden renovation.
