Last year the LINCS Family Center distributed 2,171 Weekend Meal Bags to over 70 families in the Wilson Area School District. Our food pantry also supported 547 Easton area families with monthly food distributions.
We are asking for assistance from the local community to help support our continued efforts in providing food and personal care items to those in need. Our Stuff the Bus fundraising drive will kick off in September at community events and Wilson Area High School home games.
LINCS is looking for nutritious and kid-friendly but lightweight donations to include in our weekend meal bags for our students experiencing food insecurity.
Needed items include: Breakfast – individual cereal boxes, cereal bars, granola bars, mini muffins, toaster pastries, and individual non-perishable milk boxes. Lunch – tuna or chicken packets or cracker kits, peanut butter and jelly squeeze packs, crackers, peanut butter crackers, and hazelnut spread kits. Dinner – microwave mac and cheese cups, shelf-stable microwave meals, ramen, noodle or rice cups, packets or boxes of soup, stew, chili or vegetables, pasta and sauce in pouches or aseptic packaging, and dry soup packets. Snacks – fruit cups, applesauce cups or squeeze packs, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, and fruit leather.
Much of what is distributed by LINCS is provided by Second Harvest Food Bank. However, it is rare for us to receive essential personal care items, paper products, cleaning products or diapers.
Needed Items include: Paper products – toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels. Personal care items – deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, and body wash. Cleaning supplies – Dish detergent, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent. Baby items – diapers and wipes. Baby food that is well within the expiration date.
Monetary donations are also always accepted through our website https://www.lincsfamilycenter.org/donate/ or you are welcome to write a check and mail it to LINCS Family Center, 2400 Firmstone Street, Easton, PA 18042. The Wilson Area LINCS Family Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization
